A Thank You to Our Healthcare Workers.

Please join us in thanking all Lanes Retirement Living employees and all front line healthcare workers across the province, for their efforts and perseverance during these difficult times. It’s important to let them know we are behind their tireless attempts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and to keep them motivated for the work ahead.

To everyone sacrificing so much to contribute so much—especially for our seniors—thank you.

COVID-19 Local Response and Visitation Restriction

Dear Family and Friends;

The COVID-19 situation is continuing to gain traction. As of March 14, 2020, the province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health announced the first presumptive case in Newfoundland and Labrador.

At Lane’s Retirement Living, our priority is to serve and care for our residents and ensure they remain safe from harm. Given the vulnerability of seniors in particular, we are now restricting visitation at all locations.

Effective March 16, 2020, a full restriction on guests and visitors at all locations will be in effect. This means NO visitors will be permitted at our retirement communities located in Carbonear, Botwood, Irishtown-Summerside, and Port Saunders, until the COVID-19 situation ends and these restrictions are lifted.

We realize this is a significant decision to make and that isolation can be difficult for residents; however, we feel the risks associated with having non-essential people in the building are significant enough to warrant this decision.

With respect to our staff, please be assured that any employee who has travelled out-of-province will not be allowed to report for work and will self-isolate for the required 14 day period. Anyone who is feeling ill, has come into contact with the virus, or is symptomatic in any way, will not report for work. Instead, they will be required to self-isolate and/or seek treatment as required.

We thank you for your understanding of these efforts to help make our retirement communities safe for our seniors. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at [email protected] or 709-895-2637.

Kind regards,
Andrew Holm
Vice President, Operations
